The Project

We received a $5.1MM WIRED Grant to explore interactive digital technology in our 29 county region of Ohio. We have many University resources in our region in Ohio University, Kent State University and Shawnee State University. Those three institutions have over 700 graduate and undergraduate students in IDT degree programs in animation, game development, web development etc.

WIRED Island One is focused on immersive, virtual world training and education. We built over 20 sample experiences on the virtual island space that cover a wide range of usage. The island can be seen by the video and still images below but is best experienced as an avatar. You just won't  "get it" until you experience this space in that manner. It moves from information to you choosing what you want to experience, for how long, from what angle and when. Give it a shot. It's free and we think you'll have a great experience.
